Dixie and Toby :: {Weddings} Mississippi Weddings Photographer

There are a lot of reasons I love my job…….being able to travel to places I’ve never been, meeting new people, laughing till you cry, spending more time with my husband, seeing old friends again, getting to record the day of a couple as they “tie the knot” with all their friends and loved ones close by. Dixie and Toby’s wedding day was all this and more! They are so much in love! We had such a great time at The FairView Inn in Jackson, MS.

Thank you to Donna, Norman, Dixie and Toby for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful day!

The weather was great. The smiles were awesome! And love was plentiful! Last week I met with the cutest couple in good old Tupelo, MS. Misty and Matt were so much fun to work with. The sun was gorgeous as it formed a cool halo around them! I can’t wait for their October 1st wedding! I know it will be awesome!

Crystal and Chad:: {Weddings} Mississippi Wedding Photographer

Finally, I’m getting around to blogging about Crystal and Chad’s July 31st wedding!  I’m only 6 mos. behind!  What can I say?  I’ve been very busy!

Although it was so very hot that day, Crystal was just as hot in other ways!  You go girl!

I wasn’t so sure about this last one.  I liked it, but sometimes what I like is very different from the rest of the world!  Crystal told me that she loves it!  Enough said!  End of story!

Jean and Richardson:: {Engagements} Mississippi Engagement Photographer

WOW!!! That’s all I can say! This is the sweetest, kindest, thoughtful couple I’ve ever had! Jean and Richardson’s engagement session was held at Rowan Oak in Oxford, MS.

For those of you who may not know, Rowan Oak is the home of William Faulkner, author of As I Lay Dying, The Sound and the Fury, and The Town. I thought it was only fitting the we do our session at Rowan Oak because Richardson had just gotten his law degree. He and Jean are both alumni of Ole Miss in Oxford. We had a blast, even though it was hot as blue blazes! The day was made much sweeter having my sister n law, Linda with me! I think she just added to the fun! She’s great!

Cierra and Alex:: {Weddings} Mississippi Wedding Photographer

The day Cierra and Alex married was one of the prettiest days we’ve had this year!  God smiled on them as the sun came out!  The ceremony and reception was held in West Point, MS.  By the way, West Point is a great place for pictures, but more on that in a future post!  Now, back to Cierra and Alex:  Check out this good looking couple!

Alex was so excited as Cierra came around the corner for their “First Look”!  I never get tired of this part of the day.  There’s just so much anticipation.  The look on Alex’s face is priceless!

I almost got teary just being there.  Just look at these two, I know it was just as they dreamed all of their lives!

I think Alex was the most popular man in West Point that day!

I love the romantic feel these have.

Cierra’s grandad.  And Cierra with her son, Chris.  They both love Cierra very much and it shows.

Alex sang to Cierra as she and her dad walked down the aisle.  He got choked up, but can you blame him!

A very tired little man!

Cierra and Alex had a church full of people who love them.

Two of my personal favs of the day!

Look at the happiness on their faces!

First dance.

Gotta love it!

Jessica and Wade:: {Mississippi Wedding Photography}

Calling all brides! This is the creme’ de la creme’ of the detailed wedding! If you are a bride in need of some ideas…..well, you’ve come to the right place, baby!

Jessica and Wade were married on June 12, 2010. Their wedding day was just beautiful, once you got past the heat! Oh, well, we do live in the south! Ruthie, Jessica mom, put her heart and soul into each and every aspect of the wedding. With only 6 months to get ready for the biggest day of Jessica and Wade’s life, there was no time to spare. They had so many beautiful details……from the dance floor with their initial “F” in the middle, to the pergola, that was built especially for the wedding, to the elegance of the flower arrangements, that were everywhere, to the custom outside daybed, filled with pillows that carried the “casual chic” theme, to the candles, candles, and more candles…the list goes on and on! It was a wedding photographers dream!
The ceremony was held in the beautiful First Baptist Church, Houston, MS and the reception was held behind Jessica’s parents’ home, also in Houston. There is no way I can show you all the “wonderfulness” of their day, so I will just let you go to their gallery and take all the time you need to really enjoy their day. But, I will show you a sample of some of my favorites! Have I told you lately that I love being a wedding photographer! Well, I do!!!!

Part of what made this a special day for Jessica is all the little things. The morning of the wedding, Jessica’s mom gave her a special gift to put around her bouquet. It was a handkerchief that had belonged to her great grandmother with a flower from Jessica’s mother’s wedding dress attached to it. I’m sure there was more that a few tears shed that morning.

This is the real Jessica, laughing….

Girl, you are stunning…..work it!

I love this old coke box!

I love this daybed. It says to me, “come on and sit a spell”.

The dance floor….oh my!

River birch trees are my absolute fav. Look at all the candles.

Yummy!

I loved all the sophisticated touches of bringing the inside outside. Here are a few of Jessica and Wade’s engagement photos.

That’s moss on the “F” initial. The simplicity of the flowers was to die for!

This is a look from under the food tent.

To date, this is my favorite wedding cake! There is just something about how uncomplicated, yet beautiful this was. I think alot has to do with the green hydrangeas! I’m just sayin’.

Candles, candles, and more candles……did I lie? Love it!

The children were not forgotten, oh no! There was a special section at the reception just for them!

I never get tired of photography. Especially when it’s on a day like this. Happiness all around! Thanks, Jessica and Wade, I had a blast being your wedding photographer. I wish you a lifetime of happiness with blessings abundant!
