The day of Misty and Sam’s wedding started off much like any other November day, with the last few remaining leaves of autumn clinging to their branches. The sun was shining and the air was crisp, not too cool, just right, just like Misty envisioned it. But this, my friends, was not to be just an ordinary day. This would be the day Misty and Sam would become man and wife. The day they both had waited on all their lives.
I’ve known Misty and her family for years. I’ve always thought she was so pretty, you know the kind of pretty that comes from the inside and shows up on the outside too. You can only imagine my glee when I found out I would be their wedding photographer! I first met Sam when we shot their engagement session right in the heart of Tupelo, MS. Sam was so attentive to Misty and anything she or I needed, Sam would try to make it happen. I like a groom like that! Oh, did I mention that Sam is very handsome! They are both in education and Sam is the head coach for one of the football teams in Tupelo.
When we arrived at the church, Misty had the vacuum in the sanctuary, cleaning the middle aisle. I couldn’t help but get a little tickled at her, just a vacuuming away on her wedding day, while wearing her bridal veil! She wanted everything to be perfect. I think she succeeded. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed for the entire day. All thanks to Misty who planned everything to a tee! It really made the day so wonderful.
It’s all about the details, right? Misty his a homerun with this one:
Misty and Sam chose to do a ‘First Look’. This is always my favorite part of the day. It’s the very first time a groom gets to see his bride to be, all ‘done up’ in her dress with her bridal bouquet, looking the best she’s ever looked. And it’s private, meaning you are all alone (except for me) to spend a few minutes together to enjoy each other before all the festivities begin. I always tell my brides all about this because it’s such a good choice for your day. Misty told me later that she was so glad they chose this!
Sam looks like a shy little boy with a crush on Misty! So cute!
Misty looks like she’s so excited to see Sam! Love it!
After the ‘First Look” we had a few moments for some bride and groom photos.
The reception was just as awesome as the rest of the day:
It would be a shame if I didn’t post a photo of Misty and Sam’s baby, Bailey! He stopped by the church to give his blessings!
